Review of the Annual Administrative Report of the working of Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Haryana for the year 1999-2000.

No.407-SW(1)-2002- The Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Haryana is implementing various schemes for the welfare of orphan/destitute/street children, delinquents, widows and destitute women and their dependents, old and aged, physically handicapped and mentally retarded children, the blind and deaf and dumb. To make capable, socially and economically backward women, physically handicapped welfare and child welfare, voluntary organizations have been given financial assistance in the shape of grant-in-aid by the department.

Budget

During the year 1999-2000, there was a budget allotment of Rs.18509.89 lac for the various schemes being implemented by Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Haryana. Total expenditure was to the tune of Rs.18466.30 lac out of which Rs.16646.46 lac and Rs.1819.84 lac were spent under Plan and Non-plan respectively. During the year 1999-2000, the following major schemes were implemented by the department:-

A. Child Welfare
B. Women Welfare
C. Welfare of Physically Handicapped
D. Aged Welfare
