The scheme aims to provide social security to old persons who are unable to sustain themselves from their own resources and fulfilling the eligibility criteria.

	A person of Haryana domicile, aged 60 years or above is eligible for the pension.
	Pension provided @ Rs.300/- p.m. per beneficiary.
	At present near about 9,40,368 pensioners are being covered under the scheme.
	For the disbursement of pension during the year 2006-2007, a sum of Rs.33,675.00 Lac been earmarked
	The persons found eligible are sanctioned pension which becomes payable from time to time from the date as decided by the Govt
	Pension is disbursed by 7th of each month through the Panchayati Raj Institution / Municipal Committee.

To provide social security to widows and destitute women or married women who have been deprived of the financial support from their husband and their income from all sources is less than Rs.10,000/-per annum.

Pension to physically handicapped persons

The handicapped pension aims at providing social security to handicapped people with a minimum of 70% disability including the blind, deaf & dumb 100% and 50 %  IQ, mentally retarded
